چکیده

Square Complex Orthogonal Space Time Block Codes (COSTBC) with no zero entries are known for 2,4 and 8 transmit antennas. But, for 16 transmit antennas COSTBCs with no zero entries have not been reported. Zero entries in the design lead to the problem of switching off of transmit antenna, imposing severe constraints on hardware implementation. The zeros also result in the increase of the Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR). The COSTBCs constructed for 16 transmit antennas from representations of Clifford algebras have 68.75% of zero entries and the Adams-Lax-Phillips construction, Jozefiak construction and Wolfe construction lead to designs with 43.75% of entries zeros, as the construction methods involve identity matrices. Recently, a COSTBC for 16 transmit antennas containing 37.5% zeros have been reported. In this paper, a construction method of COSTBC for 2 antenna codes, with a ≥ 4 is proposed which gives a square COSTBC of order 16 having only 25% zero.

A Class of Maximal-Rate, Low-PAPR, Non-square Complex Orthogonal Designs

Space-time block codes (STBCs) from non-square complex orthogonal designs are bandwidth efficient when compared with those from square real/complex orthogonal designs. Though there exists rate-1 ROD for any number of transmit antennas, rate-1 complex orthogonal designs (COD) does not exist for more than 2 transmit antennas. Liang (IEEE Trans. Inform. Theory, 2003) and Lu et al (IEEE Trans. Info...

On Mutual Information of Stacked OSTBC

It is well known, that the Alamouti scheme is the only space-time code from orthogonal design achieving the capacity of multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) wireless communication systems with nT = 2 transmit antennas and nR = 1 receive antenna. In this work, we propose the n-times stacked Alamouti scheme for nT = 2n transmit antennas and show that this scheme achieves the capacity in the case...

Design and Development of High Gain, Low Profile and Circularly Polarized Cavity-backed Slot Antennas Using High-order Modes of Square Shaped Substrtae Integrated Waveguide Resonator

In In this paper, two low profile, single fed cavity backed slot antennas providing a circularly polarized (CP) wave are introduced. One of the antennas presents a right-handed CP (RHCP) wave, while the other one offers a left handed CP (LHCP) wave. The proposed antennas consist of a square shaped Substrtae Integrated Waveguide (SIW) cavity incorporatng two couples of radiating slots to radiate...

Low-delay, Low-PAPR, High-rate Non-square Complex Orthogonal Designs

Abstract—The maximal rate for non-square Complex Orthogonal Designs (CODs) with n transmit antennas is 1 2 + 1 n if n is even and 1 2 + 1 n+1 if n is odd, which are close to 1 2 for large values of n. A class of maximal rate non-square CODs have been constructed by Liang (IEEE Trans. Inform. Theory, 2003) and Lu et. al. (IEEE Trans. Inform. Theory, 2005) have shown that the decoding delay of th...

Partial Feedback Based Orthogonal Space-Time Block Coding With Flexible Feedback Bits

The conventional orthogonal space-time block code (OSTBC) with limited feedback has fixed feedback bits for the specific transmit antennas. A new partial feedback based OSTBC which provides flexible feedback bits is proposed in this paper. The proposed scheme inherits the properties of having a simple decoder and the full diversity of OSTBC, moreover, preserves full data rate. Simulation result...
